New Manxcats Member!!

Hello everyone at Manxcats!!

My name is Cera and I'm new to this community. I was involved with a Westie (West Highland White Terrier) community in the past. However, my 14 1/2 year old Westie, Dustin, just passed away on February 16 of Congestive Heart Failure, so now I don't have much to say there anymore! I enjoyed talking about my furbaby so I thought I would join a cat community to talk about my two new furbabies, one of which is a Manx!

My kitties names are Precious & Bodacious. My boyfriend and I adopted them about a month ago on Saturday, February 4, 2006 from Mid-Michigan Cat Rescue.

Precious is a female Flame Point Siamese with blue eyes. She is about 3 years old and I guess she was in a house with over 100 cats before she made it to the Rescue. The old man never fixed the strays he let in and I guess it just got out of hand. He loved them all, but couldn't take care of all of them. I always wanted a Siamese because I think they are just beautiful...and she is!

Bodacious is the black & white male Manx. He is about one year old and the only history I have on him is that he came from a shelter in Indiana before arriving at Mid-Michigan Cat Rescue. His name was Tommy when I first met him, but he didn't seem like a Tommy so I renamed him Bodacious or Bodie for short. His name fits him...he's very bold, remarkable and gutsy! I always wanted a Manx, I just think they look so cute with thier stubby tails! Plus they have such great qualities and personalities.

We drove 1 1/2 hours to look at Tommy and we ended up taking him home along with Precious! She won my boyfriends heart and he just had to have her too! One week after we adopted them our vet told us that they have Ringworm, which they must've gotten from another cat at the Rescue. Right now they are secluded in an area in the basement that is easy to clean, taking medication, and getting dipped once a week. I can be frustrating and it has proven to be costly, but we aren't about to give these kitties back to the Rescue! I can't wait until they are better so they can be out and about again!

Here is a link from my website with pictures of my furbabies...

I will post new pictures after my kitties are better. I want to hear about all of your furbabies too!
